Specialty: Dental pulp stem cells, biomaterials & scaffolds, and craniofacial tissue engineering
Dr. Raúl Rosales Ibáñez is a researcher and educator whose work centers on tissue engineering, dental pulp mesenchymal stem cells (DPSCs), and biomaterial scaffolds (e.g., PCL, PLGA, PGS, chitosan, carbon-based nanostructures) for bone and cartilage regeneration. His contributions span in-vitro and in-vivo models, electrospinning and 3D printing, surface functionalization, and safe-by-design approaches for translational craniofacial applications.
He currently serves as a full-time faculty professor at FES Iztacala, UNAM, where he teaches cellular and tissue biology, regenerative medicine and dentistry, and scientific writing, and supervises theses across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. His academic service includes doctoral committees, peer review for international journals, and participation in funded research on cleft palate regeneration and osteoinductive scaffolds.
