Understanding Musculoskeletal Conditions
Your musculoskeletal system is the framework that keeps you moving. It includes bones, joints, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues working together to provide stability, strength, and movement.
Because the underlying causes vary considerably, accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning are essential before considering a regenerative medicine approach.
Common symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders may include:
Persistent or intermittent joint pain
Stiffness and reduced range of motion
Swelling or inflammation
Muscle weakness
Tenderness
Reduced joint stability
Difficulty walking or exercising
Discomfort during everyday movements
Reduced physical performance
Limitations in daily activities
Causes & Risk Factors of Musculoskeletal Diseases
Musculoskeletal disorders rarely have a single cause. Age, previous injuries, repetitive physical stress, biomechanics, lifestyle, genetics, metabolic health, and inflammatory conditions can all influence the health of joints and connective tissues.
Previous joint or sports injuries
Repetitive movements and occupational stress
Age-related joint degeneration
Excess mechanical stress on joints
Sedentary lifestyle or muscle deconditioning
Autoimmune and inflammatory disorders
Metabolic bone conditions
Genetic predisposition
Applications of Stem Cell Therapy for Musculoskeletal Conditions
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis progressively affects cartilage and other structures within the joint. MSC-based regenerative therapies may be considered in selected patients to support joint health, inflammatory balance, mobility, and physical function.
Fibromyalgia
Because fibromyalgia involves widespread pain and systemic symptoms rather than isolated structural joint damage, our physicians evaluate the patient’s broader health profile before considering regenerative or complementary therapies to support inflammatory balance, physical function, and overall wellness.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic autoimmune condition requiring ongoing rheumatologic care. MSCs are being studied for their immunomodulatory properties and may be considered as part of a personalized regenerative strategy designed to complement, not replace, conventional treatment.
Back Pain
Back pain can develop from muscle strain, joint degeneration, disc conditions, previous injuries, or age-related changes in the spine. At Immunotherapy Regenerative Medicine, we evaluate the underlying source of discomfort to determine whether a personalized regenerative approach may help support healthy inflammatory balance, spinal function, mobility, and overall quality of life.
Hip Pain
Hip pain may be associated with osteoarthritis, cartilage degeneration, injuries, inflammation, or changes in the structures surrounding the joint. Our personalized regenerative medicine protocols are designed around each patient’s diagnosis and imaging findings to support joint health, mobility, and long-term physical function.
Knee Injuries
The knee is particularly vulnerable to sports injuries, ligament or meniscus damage, cartilage degeneration, and repetitive mechanical stress. For appropriately selected patients, MSC-based and complementary regenerative therapies may be incorporated into a personalized treatment plan focused on supporting the affected tissues, joint function, mobility, and return to appropriate physical activity.
Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain can result from rotator cuff injuries, tendinopathy, bursitis, osteoarthritis, or other conditions affecting this highly mobile joint. Following a comprehensive medical evaluation, our physicians may recommend targeted regenerative therapies designed to support tissue health, inflammatory balance, range of motion, and functional recovery.
Disc Disease
Degenerative disc disease occurs when the spinal discs undergo progressive structural changes that may contribute to back or neck pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Our physicians review symptoms and diagnostic imaging to determine whether a personalized regenerative medicine strategy may be appropriate to support spinal tissue health, inflammatory balance, mobility, and long-term function.
Potential Benefits of Stem Cell Therapy for Musculoskeletal Conditions
For appropriately selected patients, regenerative medicine can provide a minimally invasive option within a broader orthopedic treatment strategy.
Minimally Invasive Approach
Selected MSC-based treatments can be delivered through targeted procedures, potentially offering an option for patients seeking to explore conservative or minimally invasive approaches before more extensive interventions when medically appropriate.
Personalized to the Affected Structure
Treatment can be tailored according to the specific joint, tendon, ligament, disc, or surrounding tissue involved rather than applying the same protocol to every musculoskeletal condition.
Support for Healthy Inflammatory Balance
MSCs are being investigated for their immunomodulatory properties and interaction with biological pathways involved in inflammation.
Support for Mobility & Physical Function
The overall treatment strategy is designed around functional goals such as movement, stability, range of motion, and return to appropriate daily activities.
Integrated with Rehabilitation
Regenerative treatment can form part of a broader recovery strategy incorporating physician-directed rehabilitation, lifestyle recommendations, and long-term orthopedic follow-up.
How Our Personalized Regenerative Musculoskeletal Treatment Plan Works
Step 1 - Initial Patient Evaluation
Your journey begins with a comprehensive review by our Patient Coordination Team. We gather information about your diagnosis, symptoms, previous injuries or procedures, current treatments, medical history, and mobility limitations.
When available, imaging studies such as X-rays, MRI, or CT scans are reviewed to better understand the affected joint, spine, or surrounding musculoskeletal structures and determine whether you may be a candidate for regenerative treatment.
Step 2 - Physician Consultation & Musculoskeletal Assessment
Qualified patients receive an individualized medical assessment. Our physicians review your diagnostic imaging, symptoms, range of motion, previous treatments, overall health, and personal recovery goals.
This step helps identify the structures involved and determine whether stem cell-based therapy or other regenerative treatments may appropriately complement your current orthopedic care.
Step 3 - Personalized Regenerative Medicine Protocol
Based on your evaluation, our medical team develops a treatment strategy tailored to your specific condition. Depending on your needs, the protocol may incorporate mesenchymal stem cell-based therapies, targeted joint or musculoskeletal procedures, PRPB, exosomes, and other complementary regenerative treatments when clinically appropriate.
Rather than following a standardized protocol, treatment is personalized according to the affected area, severity of the condition, medical findings, and desired functional outcomes.
Step 4 - Treatment, Mobility & Long-Term Follow-Up
Your treatment is performed at our Puerto Vallarta clinic under physician supervision. When targeted administration is indicated, appropriate medical guidance and imaging techniques may be used according to the procedure and anatomical area being treated.
Following treatment, our physicians and Patient Coordinators remain involved in your progress, providing recommendations for mobility, rehabilitation, physical activity, and long-term musculoskeletal wellness. The goal is to integrate regenerative medicine into a broader strategy focused on supporting function, movement, and quality of life.

My experience at Imunotherpy was excellent. Upfront with pricing and processes of the treatment as well as expected results. Everyone on the phone and in the office were very polite and respectful through the whole process. It has been less than the 3 month waiting period for my hair growth, but see a few new hairs already coming in along my hairline. Would definitely recommend for quality and pricing.Posted on Google![]()

I had my procedure on May 14 ....I cannot believe the improvement in my vision more than 50% better. Im able to get a drivers license..I didn't think I would ever drive again. Immunotherapy was there for me from the very beginning,so helpful and supportive. Absolutely the best experience I've ever had dealing with the medical community. I highly recommend having stemcell therapy. I will be going back to Immunotherapy for a booster to get my vision 100%Posted on Google![]()

I attended their clinic in Puerto Vallarta from the UK for my vaccine damage/long covid and Crohn’s. The whole process from initial contact with their team, assessing my current health and issues, creating an individual plan of treatment and then receiving the treatment far exceeded my expectations. The whole team including the point of contact, doctors and all of the nurses were very professional, caring and made sure I was at ease and completely comfortable through the whole treatment. It is too early for me to gauge the final success of my treatment but due to being unknown and complicated it will take some time for the stem cells and other treatments to do their work which is expected. However from everything I have tried previously, this is the only thing I have done which I have already noticed some small improvements, which is hopefully a start of my full healing. Frequently Asked Questions About Our Musculoskeletal Regenerative Treatments
Who Is a Candidate for Stem Cell Therapy for Musculoskeletal Conditions?
Candidacy depends on the specific diagnosis, severity of the condition, affected structures, overall health, previous treatments, and individual mobility goals. Patients with certain joint, tendon, ligament, or spine conditions may be considered after a comprehensive medical evaluation and review of diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, or CT scans.
What Musculoskeletal Conditions May Be Considered for Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative medicine may be considered for selected conditions affecting the knees, hips, shoulders, ankles, elbows, neck, and spine, as well as osteoarthritis, certain sports injuries, tendon or ligament conditions, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Eligibility and treatment recommendations vary according to each patient’s diagnosis.
How Are Stem Cells Administered for Joint and Musculoskeletal Conditions?
The method of administration depends on the condition and anatomical area being treated. For selected musculoskeletal conditions, mesenchymal stem cell-based therapies may be delivered through targeted injections or other physician-directed procedures. When appropriate, medical imaging guidance may be used to support precise treatment of the selected area.
Can Stem Cell Therapy Help Me Avoid Joint or Spine Surgery?
Regenerative medicine may provide a minimally invasive option for some patients, but it cannot replace surgery in every case. Our physicians evaluate the extent of structural damage, symptoms, imaging findings, previous treatments, and overall health to determine whether regenerative therapy may be appropriate or whether conventional orthopedic or surgical care should remain part of the treatment strategy.
How Long Does It Take to See Results After Stem Cell Therapy?
Response to regenerative treatment varies considerably according to the condition, severity of tissue damage, treatment protocol, age, overall health, rehabilitation, and other individual factors. Because regenerative medicine involves biological processes that develop over time, progress is evaluated through follow-up rather than promising a predetermined outcome or recovery timeline.
